No-Knead Focaccia

A simple and delicious no-knead focaccia recipe that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 400 ml warm water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • coarse salt for topping
  • fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 12-18 hours at room temperature.
  4. After resting, pour the dough onto a well-oiled baking sheet and stretch it gently to fit the pan.
  5. Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
  6. Let the dough rise for another 30 minutes while the oven heats up.
  7. Dimple the surface of the dough and sprinkle with coarse salt and fresh herbs if desired.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding garlic or rosemary to the oil before drizzling it on the dough.
  • This focaccia is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for a couple of days.
