  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Divide the dough into two equal parts. To one part, mix in the cocoa powder until well combined.
  7. Using a tablespoon, scoop dough from both colors alternately onto the baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the vanilla dough.
  • These cookies can be drizzled with melted chocolate for an elegant touch.
