Traditional Country French Style Garlic Soup

A savory and comforting soup that combines the rich flavors of garlic and turkey bacon, inspired by traditional French cuisine.

  • 10 cloves garlic
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add olive oil and sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add chicken broth, thyme, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Blend the soup until smooth, then stir in the heavy cream.
  6. Chop the turkey bacon and add it back into the soup before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the turkey bacon and use vegetable broth.
  • Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
