Spicy Mexican-Style Street Potatoes Recipe

A delicious twist on classic street potatoes with a spicy kick and turkey bacon.

  • 2 pounds baby potatoes
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and halve the baby potatoes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt.
  4. Add the halved potatoes to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the potatoes on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Cook in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Meanwhile, cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  8. Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven and top with crumbled turkey bacon and chopped cilantro.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add cayenne pepper to the spice mix.
  • This can be served as a side dish or a main vegetarian option by omitting bacon.
