Saltine Cracker Toffee

A delightful combination of sweet toffee and salty crackers, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 package Saltine crackers
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers and spread to coat evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top; let them sit for a few minutes to melt.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
  8. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
