Salted Caramel & Pecan Baklava

Experience the perfect blend of sweet and salty with this delicious salted caramel and pecan baklava.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  3. Layer the phyllo dough, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  4. Mix chopped pecans with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  5. Place the nut mixture on top of the phyllo layers.
  6. Continue layering phyllo and nut mixture until finished.
  7. Cut into diamond shapes before baking.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the syrup by boiling sugar and water, then adding caramel sauce.
  10. Pour syrup over the baklava after baking and cool before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of sea salt on top before serving.
  • Baklava can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container.
