  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter and granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and food coloring, and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Spread half of this brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer in the pan.
  8. Spoon the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl with a knife.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the brownie part.
  10. Let cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring for a more vibrant red color.
  • These bars can be chilled in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
