  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
  3. Cut the bread into cubes and add it to the mixture, letting it soak for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and drizzle with melted butter.
  5. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes until golden and set.
