  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in flour and salt until dough forms. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let dough rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Divide dough into equal pieces, flatten, and fill with mozzarella. Shape into pretzels.
  6. Boil water and baking soda mixture, then briefly dip pretzels.
  7. Place pretzels on the baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
