  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the blackberries, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  5. Add the milk gradually, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  7. Roll out to about 1-inch thick and cut into triangles.
  8. Place scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
