  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Add onions, garlic, carrots, and peas, cooking until softened.
  5. Stir in tomato paste and beef broth, then simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes until tender, then drain and mash with milk and butter.
  7. Combine the turkey mixture with chopped crispy bacon, then pour into a baking dish.
  8. Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the turkey mixture.
  9. Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For added flavor, use fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary.
  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey with ground beef or lamb.
