  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add the onions to the pot and cook until they are caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
  3. Stir in the sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the white wine and let it reduce by half.
  5. Add the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to broil. Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and top with cheese.
  7. Broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve the soup in bowls topped with the cheesy baguette slices and crispy turkey bacon.
