  • 6 slices brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and salt.
  2. Arrange the brioche slices in a casserole dish and pour the egg mixture over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Bake the soaked bread for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar on top and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until it forms a crispy layer.
