  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and vegetable broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Use an immersion blender to smooth the soup to your desired consistency.
