- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
- In another bowl, combine the melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
- Fill each muffin liner halfway with batter, then sprinkle with a layer of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Add more batter on top until the liners are about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While muffins cool, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled muffins before serving.
