Cherry Chocolate Dream Cake

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup pitted cherries, halved

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and buttermilk.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in half of the cherries to the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and arrange the remaining cherries on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with whipped cream for added indulgence.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance.
