  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon for filling

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the melted butter, eggs, and spices, mixing well.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm area for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, spread with melted butter, and sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon filling.
  6. Roll tightly and slice into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before frosting.
