  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add vanilla extract and apple cider to the butter mixture and blend.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and combine well.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice until smooth.
  7. Drop cookie dough onto a baking sheet and create an indentation in the center.
  8. Fill each indentation with the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
